|Winter snow can often hide fire hydrants making them difficult to find quickly. In the event of a fire, firefighters have to locate and shovel out fire hydrants before hooking them up. Please don't let your neighborhood hydrant remain "undercover". Please clear a 3 foot radius on all sides if it is possible to safely do so. When shoveling snow, be aware of vehicle traffic. Do not stand in the street and be careful not to slip and fall out into the roadway. Clearing the snow around a hydrant is an easy way for residents interested in lending a hand to improve neighborhood safety in our community. Thank you.
